ELITE SUPPLIER FOR THE DANISH STATE

Europa blev i 2020 kåret som eliteleverandør til staten. In 2020, Europa was named the elite supplier for the Danish state. This means, that Europa is amongst the best suppliers to the public sector in the canteen and restaurant industry.

Europa nourishes ministries and agencies.

When glancing at Europa’s list of customers, ministries and agencies make up a large share of our customers. Our history of running canteens started back in 1993, when the Ministry of Environment moved their location to Højbro Plads in the centre of Copenhagen. They had no canteen or catering for meetings and therefore approached our café, as to ask if we would be able to help them out. We served the first Europa coffee to the minister in the ministry’s meeting room 5 minutes later… Since, we have established multiple canteens all over Denmark, where 15.000 people enjoy their lunch on a daily basis.

We serve ‘brain food’ to gymnasium students

Ordrup gymnasium chose Europa to run their canteen. The young students are very aware of sustainability, quality and tasteful experiences. They are opinionated when it comes to their food, where we collaborate in an exciting dialog regarding what and how the canteen is to serve them, so their expectations are met. We are happy to be challenged and learn from our guests.

SEE WHAT THE KITCHEN CHEFS HAVE ON THE MENU

There is something for everyone when the head chef composes the weekly menu. Below are examples of menus served at two of our canteens in September and October of 2021.

Besides the warm meal of the day and the vegetarian option, we serve cold dishes every day, such as:

Cold dishes/cold cuts/vegetarian/cheese

Smoked trout with dill foam and lemon
Greek meatloaf with fresh sage and mint, feta cheese and olives.
Egg dish with homemade mayonnaise and cress.
Two types of cheese with mango salad and/or pickled apricots.

Two mixed salads/+Salad bar

Grated black Spanish radishs and rutabaga root with winter purslane and mint dressing..
Spelt salad with spring onions, beetroot, celery and parsley oil dressing.

Mix your own salad

Spring onions, Jerusalem artichoke, chervil, garden angelica, onion, mint, parsnip, parsley root, chives, rhubarb, arugula, radishes, spinach, spring salad, asparagus, dill, lovage, winter purslane, rutabaga root, black salsify, red cabbage, celery and much more.

Included are toppings, such as: croutons, bulgur, chickpeas, lentils, beans, pearl barley, pasta and much more.

Bread buffet

A variety of homemade rye bread and whole grain bread with seeds and fibres.

Monday

Lasagne & warn tomato salad with egg plant and basil.
Salt baked celery with pickled celery and truffle.

Tuesday

Breaded patties with stewed peas and carrots, potatoes & spring onion.
Pumpkin & carrot soup.

Wednesday

Cod tails with cabbage roots & nut vinaigrette.
Salad of split peas, barley, lentils & leeks.
Kale & sea buckthorn.

Thursday

Butter chicken.
Korma with chickpeas, root vegetables, mango & cashew nuts.
Rice & raita.

Friday

Croque monsieur on sourdough bread with rosemary ham, serrano & gruyere cheese.
Croque monsieur “veggie” with smoked celery and portobello mushroom.

Monday

Veal ragout with mushrooms, liquorice and carrot, smashed potatoes & parsley.
Beans & chickpeas in tomato sauce with curry and root vegetables.

Tuesday

Over-night roasted pork neck with pickled celery and mustard.
Baked root vegetables & gremolata.
Quinoa and lentils from Puy.

Wednesday

Fish patties and remoulade, cabbage and dill potatoes.
Egg cake with tomato and chives.

Thursday

Jambalaya with chicken, shrimp & chorizo, yellow rice and chili.
Tomato soup with manchego cheese & pico de gallo.

Friday

Pasta carbonara.
Fried courgette with arugula pesto, glazed red onion and parmesan cheese.
Pasta with egg and black pepper.
